In a back and forth contest to begin the night, Olpe came away with a 49-47 victory against Lebo.
No team led by more than six, with each team trading blows throughout the night.
Both teams started off the game hot from beyond the arc, with Lebo hitting four 3’s in the first half and Olpe adding five. Olpe led 23-22 at the break.
Lebo’s Audrey Peak gave Lebo the lead, 35-34, hitting a half-court shot at buzzer.
Olpe shimmied the momentum and battled back keeping the game within one possession throughout the fourth.
Olpe’s Kadey Robert, overcame a cold second half, gifting her team the victory with six seconds remaining.
Robert led Olpe with 23, with Peak adding 20 for Lebo.
Olpe Head Coach Ron Slaymaker said it was persistence that allowed his team to come out on top.
Olpe and Lebo are both 5-1 on the season.
In the second half of the night, Lebo roared out in the first half leading by as many as 11.
A conversation at half between Olpe coaches, Chris and Ryker Schmidt, had the son persuading father to change things up defensively.
Olpe packed into a zone that sparked a second half run, winning 64-50.
Brecken McGuire led the Eagles with 21, with Dominic Risner leading Lebo with 16.
Olpe improves to 5-1, with Lebo falling to 3-3.
