The Emporia High girls wrestling team finished 16th at the Ladycat Classic hosted by Basehor-Linwood on Saturday.
Senior Virginia Munoz was the top Lady Spartan finisher taking third at 135, defeating Dodge City’s Hailey Ramos 3-1 via sudden victory. Junior Heily Batres (105) and sophomore Claire Starr (125) each finished ninth in their respective weight classes. Sophomore Kensley Medrano (120) and Yaneli Carranza (155) each finished 10th in their respective weight classes. Senior Eryn Templeton (140) and junior Breanna Wolf (145) each finished 11th in their respective weight classes.
Other Lady Spartan finishers included Allison Curtis (13th at 100), Chloe Steele (15th at 110), and Brelynn Thompson (25th at 130).
Emporia High will be back in action at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when the Lady Spartans host Spring Hill in a dual.
