Emporia Spartan Boxing was 0-3 in Silver Gloves state competition Saturday.
11-year-old Arles Sieberns (75 lbs), 11-year-old Mauricio Estrada (80 lbs) and 12-year-old Zuriel Trujillo all lost via decision in their respective bouts in Wichita. Despite the losses, Spartan Boxing will still have four regional competitors in January.
14-year-old Ryker Gorton (100 lbs), 15-year-old Zaiden Ortiz (170 lbs), 13-year-old Gio Cervantez (145 lbs) and 15-year-old Edgar Gomez (106 lbs) all advanced to the regional competition via walkover.
