Kansas lawmakers are less than a month away from starting the 2024 session.
Lawmakers officially begin the session Jan. 8, and Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has announced her annual State of the State address — a status report on Kansas government along with her goals and oblectives for the upcoming session — will be at 6:30 pm Jan. 10.
Medicaid expansion is already shaping up to be a big topic for this session, with medical marijuana also possibly getting a lot of attention. Declining state revenues over the past four months will also be addressed as part of a longer-term plan.
KVOE and KVOE.com will keep you updated on legislative matters throughout the session.
