It was a sweep for the Chase County Bulldogs Tuesday night in Cottonwood Falls.
The Chase County girls improved to 6-1 on season, behind a 55-26 victory over Northern Heights. The Bulldogs worked their inside-outside game to near perfection in the victory. Avery Beyer led the way with 17 points, 15 of which coming from behind the arc. Madelyn Wilson added 15 points in the paint. Persistence was key for Chase County in the victory according to head coach Clayton Happy.
Northern Heights fell to 0-5 on the season and was led by Makeena Delgado with 7.
In the boys game, Chase County overcame a slow first quarter before pulling away 64-26. The Bulldogs improved to 5-2, behind double figure efforts from Tag Groh with 14 points and Wyatt Griffin’s 19. The 1-2 guard combo had Cade Witte all smiles in postgame.
Kelton Bish led Northern Heights with nine points.
The Area Game of the Week will return on January 5 with an in-district Lyon County League Showdown as Olpe travels to Hartford.
