The Emporia Fire Department has obtained a new educational resource they believe will engage a whole new level of learning when it comes to fire safety.
That’s according to EFD Training Officer Matt Luder who pursued a $10,000 grant awarded to the department by the Clint Bowyer 79 Fund. Those dollars were used to purchase an inflatable home that Luder says will be set up at large community events in the future.
The purpose of the inflatable home is to provide a visual resource for teaching both fire prevention and reaction within a home.
Luder says while everyone learns differently, he does believe having this visual aid on hand will help residents better retain information presented to them as it pertains to fire prevention and response.
There is no word as of yet as to which major community event the inflatable house will make its debut at.
