With sales slower than in years past, the Flint Hills Optimists are taking an unusual step. They are offering a discount on trees remaining at their annual Christmas tree lot fundraiser, as organizer and spokesperson Bob Burenheide explained on KVOE’s Morning Show on Tuesday:
Burenheide says residents can also call him at 620-344-4322 if they want a tree. Burenheide says Scotch pine and white pine numbers are low, but there is still a good supply of Canadian balsam and Fraser fir. Wreaths have sold out, but there is still garland available.
All proceeds benefit upcoming Optimist projects. Hours at Guion’s Showcase are 5:30-8 pm this week or by phone call.
