If youre traveling for Christmas, New Year’s or both, you’re probably smiling when you pass a gas station.
Kansas AAA Manager of Public and Government Affairs Shawn Steward says gas prices across Kansas are the lowest they have been in almost three years — and they are well below the national average.
Locally, gas prices are between $2.64 and $2.69 a gallon. Areawide, gas prices are as low as $2.57 a gallon in Eureka. Gas prices are nearly a dollar lower than they were this past spring and summer.
Steward says there are no indications of a rapid increase in gas prices due to world pressures, although there could be some smaller-scale fluctuations for the rest of the year.
