The Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas Board of Directors has temporarily relieved President Chuck Scott of his duties.
The action came following a motion made during the board’s special meeting held Friday afternoon. Board Chairman Brad Kraft.
With Scott now on leave, the day-to-day responsibilities of the RDA President will fall to Kraft as the board chair per the RDA’s succession plan. Kraft’s position is up for re-election at the board’s next monthly meeting in January and, if Scott’s leave continues to that point, the president’s responsibilities will fall to the newly elected board chair.
There is no timeline for when or if Scott will return to his role and Kraft declined comment as to what led to the board’s decision Friday.
This is an evolving situation and one that may see additional conversations in the coming weeks. Scott is just the second president in the RDA’s history a position he has held since January of 2022 when he replaced longtime president Kent Heerman.
