CrossWinds Counseling and Wellness CEO Amanda Cunningham sees the finish line for the agency’s Breaking Stigma, Breaking Ground capital campaign.
Cunningham says the $5.3 million campaign is designed to purchase the former Chi Omega sorority house and the former Earl Center near Emporia State University to develop a campus-style setting for mental health services. Cunningham says about $125,000 is left by July to meet the requirements of a Mabee Foundation matching grant and finish the campaign.
Cunningham says the Earl Center — now known as the Sauder Family Center — now has therapists, emergency services, a medication clinic and pharmacy moved in. Children’s programming, including the therapeutic preschool, will move over next month. Chi Omega, meanwhile, will have administration offices, community training, mental health crisis response and adult therapy services. Interior demolition is underway at Chi Omega.
CrossWinds’ lease at its current administrative office, 1000 Lincoln, is expiring in June.
