It may be Christmas time, but weather conditions will look like springtime heading into the official holiday.
After dense widespread fog blanketed the area Saturday morning, forecasts are calling for chances of rainfall with temperatures approaching 60 degrees through much of Christmas Eve with the best chances of rainfall coming in the evening hours. Scattered thunderstorms are also possible throughout the day, however, severe weather activity is not expected.
Following the rainfall, there is a chance of more wintry precipitation on Christmas Day with chances of rainfall in the morning transitioning to a rain-snow mix before noon and possibly all snow by mid-afternoon. Unlike the snow event in late November that brought upwards of eight inches to portions of the listening area, little to no accumulation is expected with any snowfall that comes Monday.
Be sure to stay tuned to KVOE, KVOE.com and KVOE social media throughout the holiday weekend for more weather updates as they develop.
