A pair of Emporia residents were involved in a reported injury crash near El Dorado in Butler County on Christmas Eve.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2007 Lincoln MKZ driven by 28-year-old Natalie Cowan of Emporia was northbound at Kansas Turnpike mile marker 82.3 northbound, 45 miles south of Emporia, when the vehicle hydroplaned and struck the barrier wall just before 7 pm. The vehicle would come to rest in a ditch in the area.
Cowan suffered suspected minor injuries while an occupant, 31-year-old Nicholas Rodriguez, also of Emporia, suffered no apparent injury. It is unclear if Cowan required a trip to the hospital afterward.
