There are some extremely low unemployment rates forthe KVOE listening area.
Emporia’s jobless rate for November is at 1.8 percent, below the 2.9 percent reported in October and the 2.3 percent from November 2022. Lyon County’s jobless rate for November is even lower — 1.7 percent — below the 2.8 percent from October and 2.4 percent from November 2022.
Lyon County now has the lowest unemployment rate for area counties. Osage County is second-lowest at 1.9 percent. All other area counties are between 2.1-2.5 percent for November and all had declines between October and November.
The statewide rate for November is actually slightly higher at 2.9 percent, level with both October and with November 2022.
