Hispanics of Today and Tomorrow is set to hold one more event before 2023 concludes this weekend.
HOTT is co-sponsoring a kids’ bowling fiesta with Flint Hills Lanes on Saturday from Noon to 4 p.m.
Families with children under the age of 13 can bowl for one hour for free. HOTT member Sally Sanchez says the event ties into their mission. Sanchez says the event brings an avenue of bowling to explore the sport of bowling along with providing a splash of competition.
Adults must be present for the children can bowl for free.
With this being HOTT’s final event of the year, it’s been a busy year for the group. HOTT has hosted events like Cinco de Mayo, Dia de los Muertos, and Vamos a Pescar and has also given out scholarships for Emporia High School graduating seniors.
HOTT member Patricia Saenz-Reyes says even though 2023 was a good year for HOTT, they’re excited for what’s to come in 2024 with making their events better than in years past. Saenz-Reyes says expanding demographics in 2024 is a big goal.
Nachos and tacos will also be available for sale at the Flint Hills Lanes’ concession stand.
