The new year has brought new routes for Lyon County Area Transportation (LCAT).
As of Tuesday, LCAT has condensed its former two-route system, east to west, into a single route according to Director Shane Brunner.
Brunner says the reconfiguration will help with efficiency and cut down on the number of transfer points for riders.
The reconfiguration will include a pair of new stops at the Emporia Pavillions and 12th and Peyton according to Brunner. That being said, Brunner says there will be little to no changes for pickup and dropoff times and no changes to LCAT’s fees.
Brunner says with the reconfiguration, LCAT’s second bus will become a demand bus, a service he says has become very popular in recent months.
