Just a month after one local pharmacy closed up operations, another local entity is looking to bring similar services back to the community.
According to Dillons Food Stores Corporate Affairs Manager Sheila Regehr, the Emporia location will be adding a “mobile pharmacy” inside of the former Goodwill location at 904 East 12th Avenue.
Regehr says the expansion into the former Goodwill building will only be for pharmacy services at this time, however, the interest in further expansion is always there. Regehr says a date for the pharmacy’s opening is still pending, however, they anticipate the doors will open sometime this spring.
This is not the first time Dillons has provided pharmacy services to the community as it previously had an offsite location inside of Flint Hills Mall that closed down more than a decade ago. The announcement of the mobile pharmacy comes a little less than a month after Graves Drugs closed its pharmacy back in mid-December.
When asked what led to the decision to establish the mobile pharmacy Regehr stated it was “an opportunity to better serve our customers.”
