Two water main breaks in west Emporia developed by mid-morning and were fixed by mid-afternoon Wednesday.
Repairs were needed in the 700 block of Industrial and on West Fifth between Elm and Oak. Breaks were reported shortly after 9 am.

Emporia’s Underground Utilities crews are dealing with a pair of water main breaks Wednesday morning.
Shortly after 9 am, City Communications Manager Christine Torrens announced active breaks in the 700 block of Industrial and at Fifth between Elm and Oak. Water service will be affected near both break points, and Fifth is currently closed to traffic from Elm to Oak.
