After two wins to start the 2024 portion of their schedule, the Emporia High basketball teams return home Friday to take on Topeka High.

The Lady Trojans will be playing their second game in as many nights as they fell 59-25 to Blue Valley Northwest on Thursday night. Emporia High girls coach Carolyn Dorsey said the Lady Spartans need to continue playing their style of basketball.
Senior Addie Kirmer says setting the tone will be key.
Meanwhile, the Emporia High boys will look for their sixth win of the season and second of the week against the Trojans who are 3-4 after a 77-50 loss to Blue Valley Northwest on Thursday night. Emporia High boys coach Lee Baldwin said a fast start is key against the Trojans.
Freshman Harry Trelc says the Spartans need to find a way to produce offense in several different ways.
