Two of Emporia’s economic development boards have meetings this week.
Emporia Enterprises will meet at 4 pm Wednesday. The meeting will consist of an update on Emporia’s industrial parks and an executive session, along with a conversation on other currently-unspecified business.
The Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas has its board meeting at 7 pm Friday. Board members will discuss the board president’s report and legislative statement before talking about a code of ethics policy and holding an executive session for unspecified matters.
This comes as current director Chuck Scott was placed on paid administrative leave during a special board meeting shortly before Christmas. There has been no comment on what led to the board’s decision and no word on when final action may come regarding Scott’s future with the agency. Current board president Brad Kraft is handling the RDA’s daily responsibilities in Scott’s absence.
Both meetings will be at the Trusler Business Center.
