A motions hearing will take place next month as part of an Emporia attempted murder case.
Travis Wade Westcott will appear Feb. 7, following a motions hearing in Lyon County District Court on Friday.
A tentative trial setting of March 4-8 is on the docket, along with a trial status hearing Feb. 28.
Westcott was charged this past spring with 15 counts, including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated witness intimidation, stalking and criminal threat. Prosecutors expanded the complaint to 25 total counts this past summer. He’s accused of trying to kill a woman in October 2022, but he’s also accused of battery, criminal threat and stalking as connected to several alleged incidents between January 2020 and this past May.
After allegedly violating bond conditions late last year, Westcott was charged with aggravated intimidation and violating a protection order. He has a preliminary hearing Jan. 31 in that case.
