Emporia Public Works crews handled a water main break in far west Emporia Tuesday afternoon.
Crews had to go to the 700 block of Overlander Road shortly before 11:30 am. The break was reported as fixed shortly after 5 pm.
A second break developed in the 900 block of Huntington shortly after 5:30 pm. Nearby water service may be impacted.

Emporia Public Works crews are contending with chilly air temperatures and numbing north winds as they repair a water main break near the west city limits.
The city reported the break in the 700 block of Overlander shortly before 11:30 am. Nearby water service has been affected.

Air temperatures have been in the upper 20s with wind chills in the low to mid-teens, the result of northerly winds gusting as high as 35-50 mph all day.
