I am sure you won’t be surprised to learn that effective Customer Service is essential for any business to succeed.
We learned quickly back in the Valu-Line Low-Cost Long Distance days that blaming Ma Bell or AT&T for a customer’s problems wasn’t an effective response.
As Clark Carpet and Tile’s commercial says – customers don’t care how fast you did the work – they’d rather know how well you did it.
At Valu-Line we learned to get to the FIX as quickly as possible. Judy Hedrick and Cheryl Doty became masters at letting our customers know that help was on the way.
I think effective customer service is at an all-time high thanks partly to Covid which forced businesses the go the extra mile to deliver their goods.
We had an example of effective customer service last week that I want to share.
I take a drug called Percoset three times a day for pain. Because it is a narcotic – simply getting it is tightly controlled.
First, my doctor has to order it each and every time.
But, since there is a limit of 45 pills per order the doctor is in the loop every 15 days meaning I have to order the drug every two weeks and hope the order gets filled on time.
A Standing Order is not allowed. Ordering early doesn’t work either. It is a tight schedule and we have to sign at delivery!
We use Haag Pharmacy and they are awesome at ensuring my Percoset gets delivered on time.
Last week, at about 6:45 we received a call from Amber Haag, the owner of our pharmacy asking exactly when I needed my Percoset as her last delivery had left.
If I needed the pills that night she’d bring them by. Fortunately, I was good until the following day so no problem – just great concern and customer service by Haag.
This is not simply a commercial for Haag as I know all pharmacies bend over backwards to assist their customers.
So, here’s a KVOE tip of the hat to all businesses that provide excellent Customer Service. It just makes sense!!
