The Kansas City Chiefs advanced in the Wild Card round of the NFL Playoffs with a 26-7 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Saturday night at Arrowhead Stadium. The air temperatures in the game were measured as low as five below zero in the game, but the Chiefs persevered with a defense that allowed just one Dolphins score in the second quarter. Kansas City started the game with a touchdown on their opening drive on an 11-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes to Rashee Rice. After the Dolphins touchdown and three Harrison Butker field goals, Kansas City led 16-7 at halftime. Harrison Butker tacked on another 3-pointer in the third quarter before a 3-yard run out of the Single Wing formation by Isiah Pacheco sealed the win in the fourth quarter. It’s the sixth-straight year with a playoff win for Kansas City, a franchise record. The Chiefs advance to the Divisional round and will await the results of the remaining playoff games to find out their playoff opponent and destination. If the Steelers eliminate the Bills, the Chiefs will host at Arrowhead Stadium. If the Bills win, the Chiefs will head to Buffalo in the next round.
