Emporia Spartan Boxing’s Junior Robles will once again return from Hutchinson as a state champion.
Robles won his third straight state championship, this year at 147 lbs, with a victory at the Golden Gloves state tournament in Hutch Saturday. Robles now advances to his third consecutive regional tournament where he will hope to earn another trip to the Golden Gloves national tournament later this year.
Also in competition for Spartan Boxing this past weekend was 20-year-old Seth Lanning who made his amateur debut losing a decision in the 175 lbs weight class.
Robles will take to the ring once again on Sunday in a 147 lbs matched bout.
