Flint Hills League Shootout to begin Wednesday

The Flint Hills League Shootout is scheduled for this week, however, the schedule is different than in years past.

Normally first first-round games are played on Monday and Tuesday at White Auditorium, but that’s not the case. Due to the extreme weather, the tournament will now start on Wednesday with boys’ first-round games. Two games will be played at Lyndon and two at West Franklin. The tournament will shift to White Auditorium with girls’ first-round games on Thursday. Friday will be the semifinals and Saturday will be the place games.

Flint Hills League Tournament Director Tanner Smith says league administrators decided what was best for the kids.

Smith added holding the league tournament in Emporia is a good way to reconnect with people.

Championship semifinals and 3rd place and championship games will be carried on Country 101.7 FM, KVOE.com/listen and streaming audio and video on KVOE TV at KVOE.com. Coverage on Friday and Saturday will begin at 2:55 p.m.
