Word on formal charges is pending after an alleged chase in Greenwood County this month.
The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy tried to stop a vehicle in Eureka on Jan. 5, but the driver, later identified as Aubrey Maxwell, age and hometown not immediately listed, refused to stop. The department says Maxwell allegedly ran stop signs, drove into incoming traffic at least once and hit several curbs before stopping in a yard.
Maxwell was arrested on suspicion of flee and elude, DUI, not having a drivers license and no proof of insurance.
