Seven area high school basketball teams are ranked in this week’s KBCA rankings released Tuesday.
The Emporia High girls are still ranked fifth in Class 5A with a 6-1 record. The Lady Spartans will play their first game in 16 days at 6 p.m. Thursday when they play host to Manhattan.
Areawide, the Lebo girls are No. 1 in Class 1A-Division II for the second consecutive week. The Lady Wolves are 8-1 and will play Waverly on Wednesday and Southern Coffey County on Thursday. The Madison girls jump into the top 10 for the first time this season after their win against Olpe last Friday. The Lady Bulldogs check in at No. 7 in Class 1A-Division I. Madison is 6-2 and will play Burlingame on Thursday, Southern Coffey County on Friday and Hartford on Saturday. The Olpe girls are No. 8 in 1A-DI with a 7-2 record. The Lady Eagles will play Waverly on Thursday and MdCV on Friday. The Lyndon boys are ranked No. 1 in Class 2A with a 7-0 record. The Tigers open up play in the Flint Hills Shootout on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. when they host Northern Heights in a first-round contest. The Olpe boys are No. 3 in 1A-DI with a 8-1 record and will play Waverly Thursday and MdCV Friday. The Lebo boys are ranked ninth in 1A-DII with a 6-3 record. The Wolves will play Waverly on Wednesday and Southern Coffey County on Thursday.
