Lyon County’s newest non-profit organization will have an informational meeting to introduce itself to the local community next month.
Nesting Incorporated is a non-profit organization that works to serve the most pressing needs of the elderly community in the area. When asked what prompted her to create the agency, founder Kitty Hamilton says she wants Nesting to serve as an advocate for senior residents at a time when “aging has changed.”
In addition to advocacy, Hamilton says the organization has a total of 12 focus areas including:
*Communication
*Senior Medicare Patrol
*Volunteerism
*Healthy Lifestyles
*Simple Needs
*Financial Debt and Fraud
*Fall Prevention
*Caregivers
*Accessible Communities
*Partner Solutions
*Lifetime Celebrations.
Residents will be able to learn more about the agency and its plans to achieve these goals during a public meeting at the Emporia Public Library on Monday, February 5th. The meeting will run from 10 am to noon.
