The bracket has been released for the Glacier’s Edge Tournament which will begin next Thursday at Emporia High.
The Emporia High girls are the No. 2-seed and will face Wichita Southeast in the first round at 7 p.m. The Lady Spartans will either play Derby or Hutchinson either in the consolation semifinals at 4:45 p.m. or championship semifinals at 7:45 p.m. pending Thursday’s result. Emporia High-Wichita Southeast and Derby-Hutchinson will take place in the main gym at EHS. Other first round match ups that will take place in the junior varsity gym will be Highland Park and Lawrence Free State at 5:30 p.m. with Blue Valley and Shawnee Heights to follow at 7 p.m.
Six of the eight teams in the field are currently ranked in either Class 6A or 5A in this week’s KBCA Rankings.
Before focusing on their home tournament, the Lady Spartans will host Manhattan in a make-up game from Tuesday at 6 p.m. Thursday. We’ll have the game on KVOE with coverage beginning at the conclusion of the Emporia High boys game vs. Wichita Collegiate from the Bluestem Classic in El Dorado.
