The Emporia High girls wrestling team had a strong showing at the Southside Slam on Saturday in Olathe.
Emporia High finished sixth out of 25 teams and was the second highest finishing Kansas school. Chloe Steele finished fourth at 115 with a 3-2 record. Kensley Medrano went 2-2 at 130 and finished fourth. Alexa Castillo finished 2-2 at 235 and took fourth. Virginia Munoz went 4-1 on the day and finished fifth at 140 Katina Keosybounheuang finished sixth at 120 with a 3-2 record. at Heily Batres went 3-2 at 105 and finished in sixth. Yaneli Carranza went 3-2 at 155 and finished seventh. Claire Starr finished with a 1-3 record at 125 and finished eighth. Breanna Wolf went 2-3 at 145 and finished eighth. Nahiely Miranda went 1-3 at 190 and placed eighth.
Emporia High heads to Junction City for a tournament on Saturday.
