While water issues have been in place since Thursday for portions of Lyon and Coffey counties, longer-standing water issues for Chase County are, at least from a government standpoint, at an end.
A water watch in place for Public Wholesale Water Supply District 26 was declared over Thursday. The district serves Cottonwood Falls, Strong City and Chase County Rural Water District 1.
The water watch followed a drought emergency issued by Kansas Governor Laura Kelly this past summer and was upgraded to a water warning in late August. The watch was re-enacted in early November.
