More of the KVOE listening area is now clear of drought after recent rain and snow.
The latest US Drought Monitor update shows the north half of Lyon County is now drought-free, along with far northeast Chase, southeast Wabaunsee and most of Osage counties. This expands the drought-free area to the west and southwest from the past three updates.
Abnormally dry conditions, the mildest level of drought, covers the south half of Lyon County, as well as much of Chase and Coffey counties and al of Greenwood County. Moderate drought covers most of Morris and western parts of Chase counties.
