The Emporia Senior Center Board of Directors will be convening for their first meeting of 2024 Saturday morning.
A full agenda is not readily available, however, a portion of the meeting will be focused on the next steps forward to find a replacement for director Ian Boyd who announced his resignation earlier this week. Boyd announced his resignation Thursday citing health concerns as a reason for the move.
Boyd says the Senior Center Board of Directors will assume his responsibilities effective immediately, but he will stay on to close out the 2023 financial books and file the center’s IRS Form 990. Board Chair Janice Nesler-Loux says there is no exact plan in place at this time for securing a new director, however, she says plans are to reach a consensus during Saturday’s meeting.
The meeting will begin at 9 am at the Emporia Senior Center.
