The Emporia High boys swim and dive team finished eighth in its final home invitational of the season on Saturday.
Emporia High finished with 131 points in the nine-team invitational. Alex Allemang had the top finish for the Spartans finishing fourth in diving with a score of 313.30. The 200-medley relay team of Ian Navarro, Logan Woydziak, Shane Anderson and Tyler Luthi finished ninth with a time of 1:59.82. Woydziak finished seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.71 and took 10th in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.74. Anderson finished eighth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.52. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Woydziak, Broden Podrebarac, Anderson and Luthi finished seventh with a time of 3:48.84, which earned them a state consideration time.
Emporia High will have a busy week coming up. The swimmers will head to Topeka on Wednesday. The divers will compete in Haysville on Thursday and Maize on Friday. The swimmers will compete at Maize on Saturday.
