The Emporia High girls wrestling team finished second in the Junction City Invitational on Saturday.
Emporia High had 122 points, finishing behind Shawnee Heights. Katina Keosybounheuang was the lone champion for the Lady Spartans. Keosybounheuang pinned Wichita North’s Lilly Fountain at 1:51. Virginia Munoz finished second at 140 dropping a sudden victory Jayla Johnson, 6-4. Kensley Medrano (130) and Yaneli Carranza (155) each finished third. Eryn Templeton finished fourth at 135. Heily Batres finished second at 105 losing in the championship match by a major decision, 11-1. Sienna Spaulding (110) and Chloe Steele (115) finished fifth in their respective weight classes.
Emporia High will head to Manhattan on Saturday for the Centennial League Tournament.
