Emporia Native and flight nurse Adam Tebben was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon.
Tebben was escorted to Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery by various local and state emergency agencies along with hundreds of residents who came to pay their final respects. Burial at Memorial Lawn followed a memorial service at Victory Fellowship Church Wednesday morning.
Tebben and two other Air Evacuation Lifeteam crew members were killed on January 20 when their helicopter went down near Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Tebben attended several Emporia schools before switching to USD 284 Chase County for middle school and high school. He received a bachelor’s degree from Baker University and a separate bachelor’s from Emporia State. He was also involved in several nursing groups, including the American Nurses Association, Emergency Nurses Association, Kansas State Nursing Association and National Student Nursing Association.
