The Emporia High girls wrestling team finished second in the Centennial League Tournament in Manhattan on Saturday.
Emporia High went 3-1 in the duals defeating Junction City (54-30), Manhattan (40-39) and Topeka High (70-9). The Lady Spartans dropped their duel to Washburn Rural, 58-24.
Three Lady Spartans won league championships. Kensley Medrano at 130, Virginia Munoz at 140 and Alexa Castillo at 235. Heily Batres (105), Sienna Spaulding (110), Katina Keosybounheuang (120), Breanna Wolf (145), and Yaneli Carranza (155) each finished second in their respective weight classes.
Chloe Steele (115), Eryn Templeton (135) both finished third in their respective weight classes.
Allison Curtis (100), Rhiannon Thomas (175), and Rosario Treto (190) finished fourth in their respective weight classes.
Emporia High girls coach Shawn Russell was named the Centennial League Coach of the Year.
The Lady Spartans head to their 6-5A regional next Saturday at Junction City.
