It’s the month of love and the Emporia Public Library has a pair of events coming up for those looking forward to Valentine’s Day and those who may not be.
During a recent interview on KVOE’s Morning Show, Library Director Pauline Stacchini announced they will be hosting a special event on February 12 for those who may still be looking for the perfect gift for their sweetheart.
The program will begin at 6:30 pm. While the emergency program is catered to those who enjoy celebrating the day of love, the library notes there are those who may not feel as festive on February 14.
As such, the library will be hosting its first “Anti-Valentine’s” event on February 14. The event will be open to teens in grades 6-12 and will include various activities although Stacchini didn’t want to “give too much away” on KVOE’s airwaves.
The Anti-Valentine’s Night will run from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at the library. Stacchini says the event came about as staff were brainstorming different ideas to help get more teens into the library.
