Funeral services are coming this week for an Olpe woman who had been battling brain tumors for most of her life.
Montana Jean Cole passed away Tuesday at age 21. Cole had officially battled craniopharyngioma, a disease that causes recurring benign tumors, since the age of 9. That diagnosis led to nine other diagnoses, as well as brain surgeries and a raft of other treatments throughout her life, including proton radiation, gamma knife radiation and experimental drugs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Olpe’s Saint Joseph Catholic Church at 10 am Friday. Overflow seating will be available at Olpe High if needed. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited at 7 pm Thursday at the church, followed by visitation.
Memorial contributions have been established for the Eagle Creek Saddle Club or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
