Presbyterian Manor is receiving nearly $12,000 in funding through Healthier Lyon County’s Pathways to a Healthy Kansas grant program.
As part of a collaboration with Healthier Lyon County, Lyon County Extension, the Natural Resources Advisory Board and Emporia State University’s Prophet Aquatic Research and Outreach Center, Presbyterian Manor is establishing gardens at the facility as a way to foster both activity and access to healthy foods. The partnership also includes work to install pollinator way stations with native plants as a way to augment the overall success of this project.
The grant program is through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas, with Healthier Lyon County serving as the local conduit for funds.
