An earthquake was reported Wednesday morning in far western Chase County.
The earthquake was light — a magnitude 2.4 — and was reported shortly after midnight just east of the Chase-Marion county line, about nine miles east-southeast of Lincolnville and around 34 miles west of Emporia. As of 9 am, there had been one report of weak shaking in Elmdale with no reports of damage or injuries.
