The grudge match between Lebo and Olpe girls was settled tonight, with Lebo winning 52-35.
Olpe won the first matchup 49-47, while Lebo won their last time together 52-39.
It was Audrey Peak that led Lebo in the first two contests, but it was Saige Hadley that powered Lebo to the win tonight. Hadley finished the night with 31 points and 13 rebounds.
Lebo Head Coach Patrick Gardner was pleased with how Hadley stepped up.
Olpe was led in scoring by Kadey Robert with 19.
Lebo is now 17-1, while Olpe sits at 14-4.
Third time was the charm for the Lebo Wolves in the boys contest. Olpe had claimed victories in the previous matchups, and looked like it would be much of the same as Olpe pounced out to a 15-7 first quarter lead, and had a margin of 31-20 at halftime.
Lebo kept plugging away in the second half, trimming the deficit to within 3 to head into the fourth frame.
It would continue to be a nip and tuck game, with Lebo’s Drew Konrade hitting a 3 to force overtime, tied at 45.
Once in overtime, Lebo’s Grayson Shoemaker and Olpe’s Brecken McGuire would trade blows back and forth.
Lebo would not miss a 3-point attempt in the overtime frames, allowing them to beat Olpe 65-63 after double overtime
Shoemaker led Lebo with 34 points, 15 coming in the OT periods.
McGuire also finished with 15 in overtime, 36 overall.
Head Coach Dennis Becker knew this was exactly why he scheduled Olpe a third time
Olpe falls to 15-3, while Lebo is now 12-6.
