It was a clean sweep for the Emporia High bowling teams in their home triangular against Highland Park and Ottawa on Monday afternoon at Flint Hills Lanes.
The Emporia High boys took first with a series of 3,312. Four Spartans placed in the top five led by individual champion Colton Swift, who won the meet with 639 series. Devin Mohling finished second with a 632 series. Mohling said the Spartans are confident with the postseason near.
Nate Green finished third with a 632 series while Morgan Liggett finished fourth with a 569 series.
On the girls side, the Lady Spartans bowled a series of 2,423 winning the meet. Nikki Morrow led Emporia High with a second place finish with a 499 series. Morrow said it was a solid day.
Taylor McKay finished fourth with a 460.
Emporia High coach Amy Martin said both teams continue to gain confidence at the right time.
Emporia High will now turn its attention to the Centennial League Championships on Thursday in Topeka. The meet will take place at Gage Bowl with the boys to bowl at 9:30 a.m. and the girls to follow at 1 p.m.
