Preparation is fully underway for St. David’s Day activities in Emporia and Lebo.
The annual Welsh tea is at Lebo United Methodist Church on Feb. 29. The concert will be at Emporia Presbyterian Church West Campus on March 3, and organizer Mi’Chielle Cooper says it carries a lot of significance.
Organizers also say you don’t need Welsh heritage to either enjoy the concert or be part of the choir.
St. David was a bishop during the Sixth Century. The day is typically recognized through music, poetry, food, and traditional symbols such as daffodils.
