Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff Friday to honor the memory of a Kansas native and Marine who lost his life along with four others last week.
Lance Cpl. Donovan Davis, a native of Olathe, was one of five Marines who lost their lives in a Southern California helicopter crash this past Wednesday. The accident occurred during a routine training exercise.
Governor Kelly stated in a recent news release, “We will not forget the sacrifices he and the four other young marines made to protect our freedom.” Per the governor’s order, flags will fly at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday.
