Emporia High senior Alex Allemang will have a chance to be on the medal stand when the Class 5-1A State Diving Championships wrap up on Saturday in Topeka.
After eight dives on Thursday, Allemang is currently in eighth place with a score of 215.25. Allemang is 2.65 points behind seventh place heading into Saturday. Allemang will have three final dives at 9 a.m. Saturday at Capitol Federal Natatorium in Topeka. The Spartan swimmers will compete in their prelims at 9 a.m. Friday to see if they can get to Saturday. Emporia High has athletes in the 200-medley relay, the 50-yard freestyle, the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
