The Emporia State men’s tennis team overwhelmed Ottawa 6-1 in a duel yesterday at the Kossover Family Tennis Center. The Hornets won the doubles point before taking four of the six singles matches to take the duel. Anton Sarunic won at #2 doubles paired with Diego Calvo and had a comeback victory in #1 singles 6-4, 0-6 before winning the tiebreak 10-8. Sergio Vera picked up a victory at #1 doubles and won #2 singles with a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Mostafa Elbasnaly paired with Vera for the #1 doubles victory and came from a set down to win at #3 singles. Harrison Brown picked up wins at #3 doubles and a straight-sets victory at #5 singles while Harris Kossover won at #6 singles in a tiebreak. ESU returns to action tomorrow when they face Rockhurst in North Kansas City, Mo.
