Another status conference is coming in Lawrence as a rape case continues against an Emporia man.
Romeo Martinez is set for a hearing Feb. 20, following three different status hearings between early December and late last month. No trial dates are currently on the Douglas County docket.
Martinez faces one count of rape after an alleged incident in December 2022. If convicted, Martinez faces over 12 years to over 54 years in prison.
