Six area basketball teams are ranked in the final regular season rankings from the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association released on Tuesday.
For the second consecutive week, the Emporia High girls are ranked fourth in Class 5A. The Lady Spartans are 17-1 on the season and take a 15-game winning streak into Thursday’s game at Paola. The Olpe girls are ranked seventh in Class 1A-Division I. The Lady Eagles are 15-5 on the season and will host Oswego in the first round of sub-state at 7 p.m. Friday. The Lebo girls are the top-ranked team in Class 1A-Division II. The Lady Wolves are 18-1 heading into Tuesday’s regular-season finale against Osage City. On the boys side, the Lyndon boys are ranked No. 1 in Class 2A. The Tigers are 19-0 heading into Tuesday’s matchup against Herington. The Olpe boys are ranked second in 1A-Division I. The Eagles are 18-2 and have a first-round bye in sub-state play and will play next Thursday against either Oswego or Flinthills. The Lebo boys are ranked seventh in 1A-Division II. The Wolves are 13-6 heading into their regular season finale against Osage City on Tuesday.
