The Northwest Oklahoma State baseball team did over 90 percent of its scoring in two innings which proved to be enough in an 11-4 takedown of the Hornets in Alva, Okla. on Tuesday afternoon. The Hornets led 1-0 after a Patryk Hernandez single scored Austin Hamm, but a two-run home run by NWOSU keyed a four-run third inning as the Rangers took a 4-1 lead. ESU chipped into the lead with a Hernandez solo shot in the fourth and a three-run blast by Hamm in the fifth inning to tie the game up at four, but the Rangers answered with six runs in the seventh to put the game out of reach. Hamm finished 2-for-4 with two runs, and two RBIs while Hernandez was also 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs. The Hornets struck out 10 times while walking just twice. ESU takes a 7-5 record into their MIAA opening series on Friday at Northwest Missouri.
